Rivian off-road damage: what trail crews need to know.

Underbody contact, sensor calibration, and the smart way to inspect a Rivian after a heavy trail day.

Rivian's air suspension and ample ground clearance encourage real off-road use. Real off-road use sometimes means real damage. The trick is knowing what to check.

Underbody contact rarely shows up on a parking lot inspection. We lift and inspect every skid plate, cooling line, control arm, and battery enclosure mounting point. We also pressure-wash residual mud, which can hide damage.

Sensors take a beating from trail dust and impacts. Our post-trail report includes ADAS calibration verification, ultrasonic sensor test, and a camera review.

Tires and alignment are the cheapest wins. We rotate, balance, and verify alignment against the Rivian off-road spec. Drift on the freeway after a trail trip is almost always an alignment issue.
