Step one: get safe. Move to the shoulder if possible without driving on a flat or damaged wheel. Turn on hazards.
Step two: call 911 if anyone is injured or if blocking traffic. Always file a police report for any collision involving another vehicle.
Step three: capture photos. Every angle of every vehicle, license plates, road conditions, and surrounding damage. Photograph the dashboard too if any warning lights are present.
Step four: exchange information. Driver name, license, insurance carrier, policy number, plate, and vehicle make and model.
Step five: do not move the vehicle if airbags have deployed or the high-voltage system shows warnings. Wait for a Rivian-trained tow.
Step six: call our 24/7 dispatch. We send a flatbed designed for EVs, with proper tie-down procedures.
Step seven: file the claim. Most carriers prefer same-day FNOL (first notice of loss). We can guide you through it.
Step eight: send us your claim number. We become your repair team and the insurer's point of contact.
Step nine: get a rental or loaner. We help coordinate that too.
